The Costa Brava in Spain is one of the main tourist destinations. It is a coastline measuring more than 200 kms in the coast of Girona, to Spain´s northeast. Costa Brava goes all the way up north to the border of France and south of Barcelona. The name of Costa Brava in Spain dates back from the beginings of the 20th century from the writer Ferran Agullo, that after being impacted by it´s beauty in landscapes, rocks and savage waters decided on it´s name.
Localites like Cadaques, Lloret de Mar, Castell d´Aro, San Feliu de Guixols, Roses, Pals, Tossa de Mar or Palamos form part in this emblamatic coast in to what tourism in the Mediterrenean is concerned. Localities in which the possibilities are endless, since the Costa Brava borders with the Pyrenees and is close to Baqueira Beret. Nonetheless the beach, rural tourism, golf and aquatic activities are it´s most important heritage and the reason why millions of tourists come annually to this region. It is a land of great Catalonians like Salvador Dali that decided to make this place his home.
Mild temperatures, moderate rainfall, mediterrenean gastronomy, sun, and historical heritage are just a few other attractive qualities of the Costa Brava.
It´s one of those paradises that offers the Mediterrenean coast to national and internation tourism. Here you can have tons of fun while on holiday enjoying the endless activities in the outdoors, dry land or in the ocean. The Costa Brava has many spots where the Tramontana winds blow making it perfect for sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. There are also small coves where you can enjoy scubadiving, swimming or snorkelling. You will be hypnotized from all the beauty of it´s natural parks, cliffs and coves. In the province of Gerona, there are 5 natural parks and a few other Natural Reserves.
These are the main attractive qualities of the Costa Brava, and what tourism asks for when coming on holiday. This is also accompanied by a great infrastructure directed towards tourism. Hotels, hostels, apartments, hosues, campings, chalets and villas...all at the palm of your hand. There is an accomodation to fit everyones liking and budgets.
This accomodation offer in Costa Brava is also accompanied by the many bars, restaurants, pubs, discos, shops and extensive beach promenades aimed at the happiness of those who come to visit this beautiful coast in Spain. |
